FOKUS increases the awareness of and access to art disciplines by providing unique ways for people of all ages to access the arts. Our primary goal is to allow individuals to understand what their creative talents are and apply this knowledge to their educational, professional, and personal life.
We’ve created and exposed communities to the arts through SmARTs educational programs, community events, curation, consultancy, and an online magazine.
SmARTs educational programmingSmARTs (Success Made through the Arts) is FOKUS’ arts education programming that develops essential life skills through the exploration and creation of art. FOKUS partners with schools and community organizations to design and teach curricula that build awareness of and develop fundamental skills in varying art disciplines such as visual arts, poetry, creative writing, and dance. Additionally, through SmARTs, we provide soft-skill development. |
Moments
FOKUS introduces artists and communities to each other through engaging short-run event programs called Moments. The goals are twofold: to create bridges between underserved communities and art and provide emerging artists with the support to reach wider audiences. Moments include art exhibits, concerts, film screenings, panels, workshops, and more, aimed to increase participation in artistic fields by traditionally under-represented communities through exposure to this diversity of expression. |
INSIGHT Magazine INSIGHT is a digital art magazine that showcases creatives from all disciplines. Based on the concept that art defines cultures and civilizations, we provide insight into the artists who are shaping our culture through their work today. FOKUS curates this magazine to provide insight into people who are creating art, traditional and non-traditional, in their own way. |
